What the app stores
- Your grocery items, recipes, and preferences are stored in your iCloud private database. They sync between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit service, not through our servers.
- When you share your household with another person, your data is shared with their iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit sharing. You can stop sharing at any time from Settings.
- If you import a recipe from the web, the parsed text and image are stored in your iCloud database. We do not keep a copy.
- If you scan a recipe with your camera, the captured images are processed on-device and never leave your phone.
What we collect
Nothing.
- We do not run analytics.
- We do not collect crash reports.
- We do not have accounts, passwords, or servers that see your data.
- We cannot read your grocery list or your recipes. Only Apple (briefly, in transit) and whoever you've shared your household with can see them.
Permissions the app requests
- iCloud
- To sync your data between your devices and with a shared household.
- Camera
- Only when you tap “Scan Recipe.” Images are processed on-device using Apple's Vision framework, then discarded.
- Photo Library
- Only when you choose a photo for a recipe.
You can deny any of these permissions and the app will still work, minus those specific features.
